Yep, so I guess it’s unanimous. Dirty Projector’s new album, Bitte Orca, is the best album of 2009.

What’s that? You say there are still six months left in the year? And you follow by saying that that is six months of possible greater LPs. Well, I saw “puh-shawwww!” Have you even listened to Bitte Orca yet? Stereogum has already weighed in. And the downright reasonable and agreeable folks over at Pitchfork seem to think DP’s music is pretty swell (their words, not mine). And I’ve listened to it twice today and I’m inclined to agree with them. In fact, there is a whole line of people who think this album is amazing.

Now, I’m not one to flow with a mob. And I don’t expect you to neither. So have yourself a listen.

It’s complex and rewarding, like a Where’s Waldo for your ears.
