I’ve mucked about with numerous Twitter clients, including the famous TweetDeck, but for my money (ed. the writer would not spend any money for a Twitter client. sorry @lonelysandwich) this is the best client for something small and unobtrusive. The interface is skinnable and has slick animated tab transitions. There are tons of preferences to tweak the program to your liking and it even supports groups like TweetDeck.
